I recently had the opportunity to workon a commercial interiors and exteriors photography project for RJ Martin’s website redsign. RJ Martin is an electrical contractor based in Bedford, Ohio and services industries like universities, hospitality complexes and residential and commercial properties, among some of the few.
The goal of the project was to capture photos of some of their most recent work and also candid environmental shots of some of the staff on a few job sites to add as filler content for banner images, background images and future blog posts.
Once planning was all done, we were set on shooting at 4 locations across 1 day. We knew the day would be jam-packed, but when all was said and done, timing (and the weather) turned out great and we got everything we needed.
I was able to use my Phantom 4 drone for this shoot to capture all of the exteriors, aside from the apartment complex in downtown Cleveland, due to being within 5 miles of Burke Lakefront Airport.
Properties featured in this shoot were:
- Cuyahoga Community College Eastern Campus
- Cleveland Marriott East
- The Edge Apartments
- ABA Insurance (ongoing project)
I used a combination of flash and ambient blending for most of the shots. I was lucky that many of the spaces were full of natural light spilling pouring in, so I used this to my advantage and popped just a few flashes for the larger areas to feature specific areas.
